Devlog #2: AR Doesn’t Work on Every Phone

When we say “AR game,” people imagine that any smartphone can handle it.


But here’s the truth: many budget Android phones don’t support ARCore, Google’s AR library. Without it, the phone can’t recognize the floor, detect surfaces, or anchor objects in space.


We’ve seen this on devices under $150 and on older models.


How we’re dealing with it:

  • Warning users in the store about device requirements
  • Exploring fallback modes with simpler visuals
  • Actively testing on a range of phones, not just flagships
