The first version of the game worked without GPS

In the very first Reality Rift prototype, we made a bold decision: no GPS at all.

The original idea was simple — you launch the game, and through your camera, a rift between worlds appears. A character steps through and starts following you, using only AR tracking.

We skipped the GPS library entirely and relied on ARCore for motion and rotation tracking.

A cool “he’s right behind you” effect – but no connection to real-world coordinates.
